The Five Must Knows About Human Trafficking
http://thecnnfreedomproject.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/15/5-things-to-know-about-human-trafficking/
We support human trafficking in our everyday life without knowing that. With the help of CNN and other anti human trafficking groups and organizations, we have the five must know things about human trafficking. The first one is :(1) human trafficking is modern slavery. They are trapped physically, mentally and financially making this even harder to escape.
With this understood, the second must know is: (2) human trafficking happens everywhere. This is not just happening in third world counties, but in America too. The victims reside in the most obvious places, working at your nail salon, our picking your strawberries. In addition to that, the third thing people must know: (3) no one it's exempt from human trafficking. Just because your this age or this race does not matter once you are taken.
Although many of us think human trafficking is wrong, (4) we support it unintentionally, which is the fourth must know. From appliances to food, our everyday lives support slavery. However, the last thing to know is it can be stopped. (5) If we use anti-human trafficking companies they will lose money. In addition, if we hold governments accountable and work actively we can stop this and end slavery forever.

Human Trafficking and My Thoughts
Although we do not know it, I believe that human trafficking plays a huge part in our daily life's. What makes it so bad is we do not realize the severity of it all. We know it goes on, many Americans don't pay attention to human trafficking because they feel like it will never happen to them. Getting involve with organizations is one way we can prevent this horrible crime.
I believe that as time goes on, awareness increases and so did the crimes involved in human trafficking. People are forcing children, women and men into the country by different ways of the legal immigration. Many of these people are being exploited by empty promises, abuse and deception. Those who run the human trafficking ring use these people to make money while dismissing the golden rule, "treat others the way you want to be treated."
Many people continue to be exploited by human trafficking. There is so much to be done, and so many Americans to educate because as every minute goes by a person is being abducted. The fact of the matter is: it can happen to anyone. Be careful, and be aware.

Human Trafficking in Seattle
http://www.seattlewomanmagazine.com/articles/feb10-6.htm
Human trafficking victims are not always noticed. They could be anyone you see or know. They are basically slaves chained by differences in language, abuse, lies and etc. With these barriers placed in front of victims, it is hard to escape and the secret trafficking remains. They are trapped in these situations where they are afraid to telling anyone because they might end up getting hurt more.
Many women and men that come from other countries to work and help their families are there once put in these situations. A african woman was hired by a local couple as a housekeeper and she was told that the three children she left behind in Africa would be sent to good schools and that she would get to visit them every year in December. The visits never happened. The woman stated “I wake up at 6 in the morning. I had to do everything,” she says. “I work up to 9:30 [p.m.]. I go to bed at 10.”

“They told me not to communicate with other people, even if they visit us [or] come to the house. So I just keep quiet.”She left her whole family and like many victims she was filled with false promises to work for free. There are hundreds of foreign-born people like her enslaved among us in Washington State.
Too many of these incidents are occurring in Seattle. These victims are habored and transported by deception to make a quick dollar. The majority in Washington are exploited for their labor, some are forced into prostitution or sexual slavery. What makes things worse is not all people know they are victims. However, Refugee Woman's Alliance are mostly victims in this type of trafficking crimes.Friday, April 5, 2013
Stopping Human Trafficking
http://www.american.com/archive/2009/how-to-stop-human-trafficking
The president of Columbia Gem House realized how bad human trafficking is when his one shoe cost more than most Madagascaris earn in one year. And Braunwart decided to do something about that not knowing that his own company was apart of it. Eric Braunwart, president of the company, realized he had to stop and making a change in his own company. As of today, is the first wholesale jewelry company to refuse slave labor and child labor. Instead, Braunwart is paying more in order to stray away from human trafficking.
In poor regions, human trafficking is common because companies give empty promises of education and good pay and only receive abuse. While one company is stopping this abomination, it is far from over. Human trafficking affects health, safety and homeland security. Although these problems exist, just as one company stops in internally, there is a way to stop it globally. This was indicated by the Mark Lagon, the writer of this article.
Lagon steps to ending human trafficking are very clear. He tells readers: the government must gain public awareness and stop allowing products made by slave labor to be sold. In addition, countries must ban all contractors and suppliers from using slave labor. These steps will help slow down and eventually stop human trafficking worldwide.

Human Trafficking and Counterfeiting
http://www.harpersbazaar.com/magazine/feature-articles/the-fight-against-fakes-0109_
As many companies begin to cracked down on those trying to "push product" which is counterfeit, the police are also aiding its efforts. While there are many sweatshops such as: the sweatshop oversees that tethered children to the floor while they were force to make fake handbags, the dealers are over at the forefront selling the counterfeited goods. Companies are trying to stop it on the electronic level by suing eBay and others of like it who allow counterfeits to be sold. On the other hand, the police pursue this on a street level. However, the battle is far from over.
The battle goes on. As the police become more knowledgeable, so are people involved in counterfeiting. In lieu of using too many sweatshops oversees, dealers are now having illegal immigrants in America placing logos on the generic items. In addition, dealers do not hold stock rooms full of products, but hold vans placed around the city. Although the police realize this, it makes finding a counterfeiting and human trafficking ring a longer process.
Child labor, terrorism, human trafficking: Buying counterfeit designer goods is hardly harmless
Counterfeiting has become an enormous problem in our world and what aide's it in its efforts is human trafficking. Many people fail to realize the correlation and the astounding statistics that comes along with it. This harms Americans more than we know; it is the cause for the loss of more than 700,000 jobs and takes 7% from the annual world trade, valued at 600 billion dollars. However, without human trafficking this would not be an issue.

One of the Largest Human Trafficking Rings Found
http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/31/world/europe/human-trafficking-arrests
Reports say that police working together from ten different countries, discovered one of the largest human trafficking rings. There was more than 100 people arrested on smuggling people illegally They did this in boats, hidden bus compartments and etc. It took 1,200 police officers to stop this human trafficking ring. The various locations included: France, Poland, Turkey and many other places.
During this enormous bust, 176,500 euros were discovered. In addition there were mobile phones, laptops, bank statements, weapons and ammunition. This evidence will be used in the case against them in their trials. What happens to these victims is unclear, but they will be way from their traffickers. Through all this, their was good. The traffickers are off the streets and victims are away from their traffickers. In my eyes this is a win for the anti-human trafficking people. With the work of many task forces around the world, maybe we can discover more trafficking rings.
